This is a much sought-after hand knotted Berber Zanifi rug from Ait Ouaghrda in the South of Morocco. Made on a traditional loom by one woman using freshly sheared natural wool. A double sided rug, this rug takes one month to complete. This amazing rug contains three distinct styles combined: knotted, woven and embroidered. Each knot needs to be individually tied and cut; the women are only able to create one meter in three weeks. Hand-dyed using natural dyes that do not fade. Set in 100% natural wool, sheared from a living sheep. This rug was created in the late 1900s. Measures: 5 x 7 ft.
